Welcome to St Osmunds, Derby website. I hope you find the website interesting and helpful in getting to know something about our church. We are trying to reach out to as many people as we can in helping people to discover something of their spiritual nature and what it means to live with faith in Jesus Christ in these busy days. In this new year of 2012 I hope you will find a renewed sense of a journey with God. A God who reaches out to you personally with a deep desire of genuine love to you.
I come from a background of working in psychiatric hospitals as full time chaplain and latterly working more fully in the field of spiritual direction and retreats as well as Rector of a small group of rural parishes in Nottinghamshire.
My experience has shown me that many people from all kinds of backgrounds are constantly looking at their lives and its relationship to spirituality. Questions like Who am I? Where am I going? are regularly asked and the search for meaning, purpose and significance are always with us. This can be a question asked for oneself by oneself or as a group.
Silence and prayer and listening to the inner self are some ways we can begin to answer those questions and as Christians, we believe, we can find a deeper meaning and fulfilment in and through life, by an abiding faith and relationship with God.
My hope is as you peruse this site you might find something that sparks your interest in Christianity and in some way we might be able to assist you in that journey of faith and stimulates your thoughts for prayer and action.
Do email or get in touch if we can help in any way by prayers or simply a visit to our church.
We have a Taize group on February 7th in the church at 7.00pm..do come along and join us for a night of quiet singing and reflection and an opportunity to receive some prayer for your life and concerns.
God's richest Blessing.
Rev'd Glenn Martin.
Vicar.
